An iconic Kiwi TV ad made in much the same vein as another iconic TV ad: Cadbury Crunchie Bar. Gold Rush (C2074) by the same director.

This zany style advert begins with a nifty animation of a Beehive matchbox ‘driving’ a course made out of matches...quickly switching to random live action sped up scenes: a guy falls off a cliff into the sea; a Māori warrior gesticulates wildly at him from the beach; joining him on the shore the Māori man produces a packet of Beehive matches from his piupiu, the wet guy lights a pipe. A picnic by a river; punting in a boat; guy playing pinball; girl walking with matchbox in back pocket.

Suggests a number of uses for “good old” Beehive matches: To increase masculinity (a match out the side of his mouth while playing pinball), to light a fire (shows people picnicking), and to keep warm...
