A television commercial for Hutton’s Sizzlers sausages.
One of a series of commercials for Hutton’s meat products featuring Jimmy Nail, the English Geordie actor (‘Auf Wiedersehen, Pet’, ‘Spender’) and hit singer/songwriter (principally Ain't No Doubt, 1992). Jimmy Nail in headshot to camera: ‘You fly halfway around the world to film an advert for sausages and what happens?’. He gestures upwards at the rain. ‘Not exactly sizzlin’, is it?’ A stalled film crew and umbrellas can be seen behind him. ‘The people at Hutton’s are going to be over the moon about this! (Sniffs) Oh, and to think I turned down a pantomime in Briddlington. Ah well, never mind! It’ll soon be dinnertime.’ ‘That’s lunch,’ says a figure rushing past. ‘What’d I tell yer?’ says Nail to camera. Onscreen text: ‘Sizzlers’ beside which appears the Hutton’s logo and flavours (‘Cheese. Bacon. Plain’). Well-spoken male voiceover: ‘Hutton’s Sizzler’s.’ Hands grab the last Sizzlers from a plate. ‘Rain or shine’’ continues the voiceover, ‘Always a hot favourite.’ Nail to camera: ‘Aye! When you can get them!’
