“Each weekend, local South Aucklanders head to the Otara markets to buy and sell local goods. Two strong families, one Maori and one Samoan, make their living at the stalls as they have done for decades. Five years ago, the friendship between the Johnson's and the Limas was broken: one son died in a fight, and another, Sef, went to prison for his murder.  Now the old wounds are re-opened with the return of Sef to the market.  While Sef's family welcome his return, the dead boy's brother, Mike, has nurtured a hatred of Sef and his family.
The war between the families is about to be turned on its head when the families youngest members, Julia Lima and Tipene Johnson meet for the first time.  The attraction is instant and the two teenagers struggle to protect their fledgling relationship amidst the chaos of their families' feuding.  Can the cycle of revenge be stopped, and if so, are they the ones to do it?
The Market was shot on location in South Auckland, within a five-kilometre radius of the Otara Markets and Otara Town Centre. Much of the drama was shot on the streets, in rented houses, abandoned buildings, local shops and community halls.” TVNZ; tvnz.co.nz

Mike makes a decision to go down the P path for his next fight. Tipene and Julia kiss for the first time, only to be caught by grandma Lima. Sef makes a breakthrough with his prostitute girlfriend. Ngaire decides to confront Sef after Mike enters speed psychosis.
