Outrageous Fortune chronicles the lives of the West family, who have always done things the less-than-legal way. However, when Dad Wolfgang West gets sent to jail for four years, his family receives a very sharp wake-up call.
Mum Cheryl decides that it is time for her family to get out of the crime game once and for all. No more robbing, ripping people off or lying. However, for this family, breaking the habits of a lifetime is much easier said than done.

“Pascalle announces wonderful news: she’s engaged to Bruce.
Loretta claims to be busy with renovations to the video hut, (though it’s actually been turned into the set for her movie).
Meanwhile, on the movie, things are tense between the producer (Hayden) and obsessed director (Loretta). Apart from being too busy to have any real-life sex, Loretta has also decreed that there will no sex in the movie, because it’s erotica for women. But when slutty-costume designer Kasey seems to be something of an expert on what’s hot, Hayden hires her as a consultant on the film.
At this point, all roads lead to the Video Hut – where Munter is to return videos with spice-seeking Cheryl; and an angry Bruce is on the warpath. Inside, Kasey is proving her erotic worth by coaching a reluctant Pascalle through a lesbian scene, when Cheryl is heard by all, then Munter walks in – only to get the wrong idea. He now sees why Kasey is over men. As Kasey tries to explain this, Bruce is after Hayden – who finesses Bruce with the rest home excuse, but then has to whip Pascalle away to a rest home in Glen Innes Where Bruce admits to Pascalle that he’s lied about not wanting to have sex before the wedding, and Pascalle in turn admits that she’s not a virgin – which releases her from needing to do the film.
With her film in tatters, Loretta plays grumpy cupid to Kasey and Munter, but now gets the news that Pascalle is out of the movie. By the end, love triumphs for Kasey and Munter; Bruce and Pascalle; and Loretta thinks she might be able to salvage something of her film.
And Cheryl, Grandpa and Falani deal to the vazvan in the most appropriate way: they eat it. Though Van, by the way, is still miserable.“ www.outrageousfortune.co.nz
