‘Bright Grey’ is from the album ‘Happy Ending’ by Wellington indie rock band ‘The Phoenix Foundation’. The music video starts with what appears to be stars and 1980s retro graphics, with vertical and horizontal lines seen on the bottom frame. The title of the song “BRIGHT GREY” fades in and then it transitions to the band on stage, with 1980s retro graphics in the background. It dissolves to a car, like the one seen in ‘Back To The Future’, driving into the studio. The car stops and the door opens, revealing Taika Waititi watching the the band. The band starts playing the song. Retro 1980s effects and images are used during the music video.

The music video was funded by NZ On Air.
