A dramatised documentary about New Zealand women and their continual struggle to be beautiful. Many of the efforts made to be more “attractive” are detrimental to health. Reference is made to early 20th century concepts of beauty and what the ideals of other cultures are. Dr Ngahuia Te Awekotuku (Te Arawa, Ngāi Tūhoe and Waikato) gives an account of pre-European Māori concepts of beauty.
