Life in the Torres Strait Islands between Queensland, Australia and Papua New Guinea. Shows pearl divers, in very old diving masks, women tending the gardens and various recreational activities such as traditional dance. The film also addresses the influence of modern amenities on traditional culture and the need to leave the islands for the mainland in order to find employment and earn money to educate the children.
