The extraordinary efforts of Te Kōhanga Reo (Māori language nests) are brought to Māori Television on MANU RERE, a Māori language series aimed at Kōhanga Reo teachers, families and Māori language learners.

Presented by Kaa Williams, MANU RERE portrays the teaching and learning methodologies within Māori early childhood development and targets an older audience.

Teachers, parents, grandparents and graduates of Te Kōhanga Reo are offered a smorgasbord of topics, themes and issues. Interviews with Kōhanga Reo graduates, snapshots of the Kōhanga Reo 20 year celebrations, kura reo wānanga and messages from the Kōhanga Reo National Trust feature throughout the series as well as kapa haka performances, Māori music and more.

MANU RERE was produced by Māori production house Tangata Whenua Television, headed by experienced broadcasters, Robert Pouwhare, Jan Wharekawa and Gary Tatham.

He hōtaka tēnei i tautokohia i ngā mahi marautanga ā ngā Kōhanga Reo huri noa i te motu me ngā tini ākonga i te Reo Māori. He tino tauira tēnei nā Kaa Williams, Robert Pouwhare rātou ko Gary Tatham.
