One of a series of films pieced together information found in the Ministry of Works archive and looking at the exploits of New Zealand’s early pioneers.

Richard Henry, the Bird Man of Resolution Island, stepped ashore on the Fiordland island in 1894 with the intention to save the New Zealand’s endangered bird life from ferrets and rats.
