Ko Te Whakaratonga Iwi tētahi o ngā tari whai mana o te motu. Ehara ko ngā whare muramua anake – i whakangunguhia ngā Kaitīnei Ahi mo te whakaora tangata, ngā tukinga ā-waka, ngā aituā tūturu me te tiaki hapori.

Mo ngā wiki tekau mā rua, 24 ngā pia ka tīmata i te papa whakangungu tāngaengae i Rotorua – te tūmanako ka whai mahi me Te Whakaratonga Iwi.

Pērā tonu i ngā hōtaka Ngāti Tūmatauenga me Te Taua Moana, ka whai tirohanga te minenga ki ngā wero a te Kaupapa Whakaurunga a Te Whakaratonga Iwi.

The New Zealand Fire Service is one of the most respected organisations in the country. It’s not just all about burning buildings – Fire Fighters are trained for rescues, car crashes, natural disasters and protecting communities.

Over the next 12 weeks, 24 new recruits will face the gruelling training course in Rotorua – hoping to forge a career in the prestigious New Zealand Fire Service.

Following on from the Ngāti Tumatauenga and Te Taua Moana series, audiences are given an insight into the challenges of the New Zealand Fire Service Recruitment Programme.
