RUGBY... MAORIS LOSE TO AUCKLAND: At Eden Park, the final score was Auckland 9, Maoris 6. Gilmour, Kelly and Andrews dominated the Auckland side.
SOUTH CANTERBURY... MERCHANDISED LIME HANDLING: At Winslow near Ashburton, an experimental lime storage plant has been set up. It’s a two man operation which unloads 50 tonnes of lime an hour. Conveyor belts carry the lime to buckets and onto a service hopper which releases the lime into sacks below. The district surrounding Winslow uses 40,000 tons of lime a year.
