The new Wairarapa Railway is opened by the Prime Minister, Mr Holland. Railway workmen at the Woburn Workshops, Wellington weld and prepare tracks ready for the track layers. The laying of tracks through the Rimutaka tunnel and the extensive work project, finally concludes after six years, linking Wellington to the Wairarapa .
