Scenes of sailors working the Auckland wharves during 1951 waterfront lockout. Two navy officers. New Zealand navy men are ferried by launch from [Devonport] Wharf to the wharves. Here they are seen assisting with the unloading of cargo from the hull of a ship. Enjoying a tea break. Women prepare hot food for workers inside wharf shed. A passenger ship, ‘Hornby Grange’ prepares to leave wharf. Men still unloading cargo. Three women release large rope anchoring ship to wharf. Women carrying out more duties.
