Inspired by the film “The Saint in New York” (1938) directed by Ben Holmes, and the original novels by Leslie Charteris. In this black and white silent film, The Saint and Inspector Teal follow the villain Dr Einsman to Onehunga, New Zealand where he has killed a young man and woman near the Three Kings Caves. The Saint brings him to justice when he tries to abduct a young lady named Pat. Tom Gibb and his friends created this film after seeing a film from the Saint franchise. Though the film credits John F Monds as the director, one of the film helpers, Ivan Gilbert, credits Tom Gibbs saying “Tom was the brain”. G.W.R made several amateur films before World War Two made buying film inaccessible, including Mr Monds Dream (1939), and White Sails (1941).
