ATV NEWS is a 30 minute current affairs show that was broadcast to the Auckland region on weekday evenings between 1996 and 1997. The news show was broadcast on ATV, the Auckland branch of five regional stations operated by TVNZ (under the name Horizon Pacific) between 1995 and 1997. ATV NEWS anchors include Tim Dower, Mary Lambie and Tom Bradley. This recording was captured off-air by Robert Chapman of Auckland University’s Politics Department and forms part of the extensive Chapman current affairs broadcast collection. In addition to the news programme, this item also contains advertisement breaks featuring local New Zealand commercials.
