On June 1, 1989, a 40ft trimaran named the Rose Noelle left New Zealand bound for Tonga, but was soon caught up in a ferocious storm and flipped over. The four crew found themselves holed up in a narrow section of the hull floating above the waterline. This was to be their home for the next four months.

“This documentary tells the story of John Glennie and three other men who survived 119 days adrift at sea in an upturned trimaran. The Rose Noelle capsized in the Pacific Ocean and washed up four months later on Great Barrier Island in June 1989. Director Mark Beesley mixes raw interviews, 3D graphics and spare re-enactment to convey the physical and emotional ordeal.” www.nzonscreen.com, 21/05/2009
