MONTEGO BAY hit no. 1 on the NZ Music Charts on 18 January 1980 replacing ‘Jezebel’, also sung by Jon Stevens, which had been at no. 1 for the eight previous weeks. ‘Montego Bay’ stayed at no.1 until March 1980.
