Stratford Jubilee parade in Broadway, the main street. A large crowd almost blocking the street is gathered to watch performers in historical costumes on a mock ‘Stratford Railway Station’. Various shots of a replica steam train and a horse drawn gig. The vehicles continue with a bullock team pulling a wagon followed by numerous horses and horse-drawn vehicles. Other entertainers ride penny farthing and tandem bicycles, donkeys and horses. Other floats include an imitation kapa haka group, woodchoppers on large logs, sailors on a boat, whiteware goods, Federated Farmers, a hospital surgery scene, a fire truck, vintage motor car, swimming club, aero club, giant fruit basket and various floral floats
More jubilee celebrations take place in the showgrounds, marching girls, rodeo riders, donkey derby and calf roping.
Parade floats drive down gravel road, Margaret, Caleb Jnr and their mother Alvinza Wyatt watch and wave.
Mr Stan Collins and Mrs Collins, friends of Caleb and Alvinza Wyatt visit the Wyatt home, 14 Tamar Street, New Plymouth to collect the Wyatt Morris 8 car which they had just bought. Stan takes a photograph. Caleb Jnr Margaret and Mr Collins pose for the camera with Mrs Wyatt and Mrs Collins sitting in a wheelbarrow. Alvinza is given a ride in it. The group then poses beside the cars, the Morris 8 in front of the Wyatts’ new Humber 80. They shake hands, joke and hongi and Mr and Mrs Collins get into the Morris 8 and drive down Morley Street.
Adults are seated at tables for afternoon tea in the Westown School hall. Margaret (Dux of school 1953), in school uniform, sits with a group including her mother Alvinza, Principal Mr Smith, Deputy Principal Mr George and school board members. The group (Principal, Deputy Principal and Board members) poses with Margaret outside school building. Mr Smith and the Board Chairman shake Margaret’s hand.
