NEW ZEALAND NATIONAL FILM NIT

“The New Zealand School Dental Service has been in operation for over 30 years and still there is nothing comparable in any other country. As a service for bringing dental attention to our primary schools it has the full co-operation of the New Zealand Dental Association.”

The Dominion Training School for dental nurses is at the main Dental Clinic in Wellington. This building, completed in 1940 is as well equipped as any other in the world. It is a two year course and each year nearly 100 nurses complete the course. In the latter part of the course, nurses train on patients in the 50 chair main surgery and their work is under constant supervision by a qualified Dental Surgeon Instructor. The film follows the various activities and stages of training during their two year course in Wellington. In schools they instruct and educate children and parents, about the health and care of their teeth.
