Kerikeri Performance

Documentation of Bruce Barber performing post-object art piece “BUCKET ACTION” watched by people sitting on seats around room. He lays out lines on floor with tape, puts on a wet suit, then walks along the tape lines carrying a bucket. Barber comes to a corner in the line where he pours liquid into another bucket. A woman stands on a chair in front of the buckets. Barber stands in front of the buckets and a man places a mask on his face then puts a bucket over his head. Barber picks up the second bucket and walks along the line by feeling with his feet where he is in relation to it. He gets down on his hands and knees and moves towards a grid on the floor. We see there is a fish in the bucket. Barber moves across the grid, feeling with his hands, and pushing the bucket along with him. Barber pours water into another bucket, which now has two fish in it. Close up of Barber tracing along the white tape line with his hands. The grid has a rope around it, and plant material hanging in the middle which Barber moves under. Barber pushes the bucket along the ground, tracing along the line with his hands. He then takes the bucket and mask off his head. [Blank tape]

(Possibly same performance shot by another camera). Barber (with bucket and mask on head) picks up two fish from dish on ground and places them in bucket, picks up bucket and walks across room. He walks with bucket past structure in middle of room to other side, then crawls back through structure, pushing the bucket along with him. Further footage of performance. Close up shots of audience members.
