0:08:10 “The story of the nation’s noblest women - those chosen to marry the mighty All Blacks. Verna Meads, Jo Shelford, Tracey Little, Ali Imm, Nicole Marshall and Megan Cassie-Alatini talk about the great prestige and greater pressure of being wives, mothers, lovers and confidants to New Zealand’s ubermen.” (From the New Zealand Listener).
Rugby Wives takes a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most prestigious team in the country – from a perspective never before highlighted. This is the story of the women behind the men who play for the New Zealand All Blacks.

The documentary covers six decades, beginning with Verna Meads, wife of the 1950s great – Colin ‘Pinetree’ Meads, to the 1970s with Trecha Haden, wife of Andy Haden. There’s also Jo Shelford, wife of one of the most successful All Black Captains, Wayne ‘Buck’ Shelford. Tracy Little, wife of Walter Little, takes us through her husband’s career in the 1990s and we speak with the glamour women – the millennium wives who have made careers for themselves, while supporting their husbands’ demanding schedules – Ali Imm, wife of Zinzan Brooke, Megan Cassie-Alatini, wife of Pita Alatini and Nicolle Marshall, wife of Justin Marshall.

“Rugby Wives is a revealing insight insight about the ‘other halves’ in rugby.” (From the TVOne Press Kit).
