WAIMAKARIRI, 'RIVER FROM THE SNOWS' NORTH CANTERBURY CATCHMENT DISTRICT

The history of the Waimakariri River in Canterbury. Various courses of the river have taken are shown on a diagram. Floods caused through erosion reached Christchurch in 1868. The Catchment Board restores a protective cover to eliminate erosion.
