“When Europeans first came here the people named them ‘HOTU PAINU’ after the poisonous fruit which drifts on the ocean from island to island. But now it is us who have become ‘Hotu Painu’ and foreigners occupy our land.” - Rafiu Tehiva, Tahitian Youth Worker

This documentary discusses the aftermath of the bombing of the Rainbow Warrior in Auckland and French Nuclear tests at Mururoa Atoll. It is concerned with the effects of these disasters on the people living in the area.

Includes a 1973 interview with Norman Kirk strongly opposing New Zealand’s involvement in nuclear weapons and testing. Also an interview with David Lange concerning the burying of the Rainbow Warrior in November 1987.
