Building the transmission line that carries electricity to the North Island from Benmore on the Waitaki River. The film follows the cables slung from tower to tower, across Canterbury, through Molesworth to Fighting Bay. There they are lowered to the sea bed to cross Cook Strait to Haywards substation, where the final connection is made that raises the North Island’s peak capacity by 40%.
