[JOHNSON QUADS. EXCERPTS]

The Johnson quads at different stages.
Born 6 March 1935; quads in bassinets, shortly after birth; held up by nurses; on rug in garden aged 1 or 2; close up of boy; standing in cots.

Extract of a letter from Catherine Johnson to Mr Peart, Manager of NFL 1979:

“I have a film of my quadruplets who were born in Dunedin hospital and delivered by Professor Dawson of Dunedin University. They were known as the Johnson Quads and were the only quads to live, and were 27 years old when the Mason Quadruplets made their appearance... It is a 4 min. film made by Fox Movietone and depicts the quads in the Karitane Hospital where they were for 10 months after birth and also at the age of 3.”
