Dynamic characters, wondrous creatures and talking, carvings come alive in this mystical world. Moko Toa is the first Maori superhero and New Zealand's first Maori language special effects and animation drama series.

Sixteen year old Hori (Rawiri Tai Tin) is in trouble. His despairing parents decide to send him 'home' to the country away from all the bad influences of the city.

Tossed from the bus he is met by his mysterious cousin Hara (Miriama Smith). She sends him to plunder an ancient burial cave where he finds a sacred greenstone pendant. But as he escapes he is swept away into the mythical 'homeland ', Hawaiki.

(In Te Reo Māori).
