Today saw the official start of the election campaign for the two major parties, Labour and National. Labour is looking to win a historic third term while National is looking for a return to power after six years. The latest poll out shows Labour clearly in the lead against National, Labour sitting on 45% while National has dropped to 37%. The Greens and New Zealand First are on 6% with all other parties below the 5% threshold. Tongan protestors in Auckland are demanding to see the King of Tonga who is currently in New Zealand for a granddaughter's wedding.
