A film with a flower theme covering four floral events:

000:15 “1950” Thousands of people line Christchurch streets to watch the wonderful Festival of Flowers parade of beautiful floral floats; 60,000 aster flowers were required for the base of one float alone; clowns, horsemen and their hounds; Timaru, Rangiora, Ellesmere, Geraldine, Ashburton were also represented in the parade.
004:37 “1954” In preparation for the Royal Visit, floral decorations are being erected all over the city.
006:20 The Royal couple emerge from building; they attend the races in view of thousands of spectators; a drive through the streets of Christchurch.
007:54 “1957” Canterbury Horticultural Society Exhibition Show - floral displays, competitions, children’s decorated bikes and fancy dress parade; children ascend the dais to receive prizes.1957 - Anglican church service held in Cathedral Square, where many flowers are amassed at the altar.
