“In the mid 1970s Australian rugby was at its lowest point. Trounced by the All Blacks in New Zealand and beaten at home by rugby minnows Tonga, things had to change.
The series examines the resurgence of Australian rugby from “easy beats” in the 70s to world champions in 1991. That path was only possible because Australia grew to compete with their nearest neighbour – New Zealand.
This program celebrates the Centenary of Australia and New Zealand test rugby in 2003, and looks for clues to the future of the game in the tempestuous relationship between these two rugby giants.” www.abc.net.au; 17/01/2006
