In Washington President Reagan continues to express his confidence in the United State economy, while the Federal Reserve Board has said it is ready to help support the financial system. The current crash is compared with events of 1929.

World Watch:
Several reports on the world share market crash. President Reagan is willing to consider congressional proposals for new taxes and to cut the budget deficit Speakers: Ronald Reagan (United States President), Charles L. Schultze (Economist).

Meanwhile London analysts have a number of theories about the reasons for the crash, including computer share trading. Speakers: Nigel Lawson (Chancellor of the Exchequer).

In Britain there are calls for child abuse victims to be allowed to give evidence via video.
