Steve Logan and Al Brown share a love for fishing, hunting and the great outdoors. They also run one of the country's most successful up-market restaurants, Logan Brown in Cuba Street Wellington.
The seven-part series takes Al and Steve to some far-flung and spectacular corners of the country, where they hook up with local identities who share their stories, their history and their favourite hunting and gathering spots.
Whether it be snatch-potting for crayfish on the edge of a 50-foot West Coast cliff, hunting for rabbits with a 77-year-old rabbiter, or winding their way into the remote reaches of the Whanganui River - Logan and Brown meet many wonderful people who help them gather the ingredients and offer them plenty of adventure.
Each episode of Hunger for the Wild finishes off with a meal cooked in a unique and beautiful location." TVNZ; tvnz.co.nz; 12/10/2006
