Today's episode the surgical team take cover, Chris sees Smiley, the hooded gunman escape, he gives the all clear, Tania and an anaesthetist scramble to their feet surveying the chaos, the room is splattered with blood, Chris seeks Tania's help in assisting Ethan, who has been shot, Ethan is bleeding profusely but the bullet has exited and his life is not in danger, Morgan's lying in a pool of blood unconscious, Chris and Tania finish the operation on the gang member, as word of the attack spreads Smiley tries to find a way out of the hospital, he ends up in the men's lockers where Gerald is and Smiley takes him hostage, demands that he shows him to the nearest exit, Tracey passes and Gerald seizes the chance to jump Smiley, Tracey instinctively goes to help and the gun goes off in a struggle, Smiley gets shot, Robyn witnesses Chris grilling Smiley after his operation, she admonishes Chris for interfering in a police investigation and warns him that he is putting his son in danger as well as everyone else, Callum visits Chris and advises him to give up his private investigation, warns him the Whitetails and their associates are dangerous, Chris refuses to budge, Callum is forced to reveal that Justine is still alive, Tania learns that the Whitetails are involved in the OR shooting, and confronts Kingi when she finds him visiting Smiley in hospital, Kingi denies any involvement in the shooting, and Tania challenges him to reveal what he knows, they argue and Robyn Gardner watches their heated exchange through the doors of HDU, when Gerald hears that Morgan has been shot he races to her side, Hunter asks Callum if Morgan can stay with them while she recovers.
