Spencer Samuels and Tony and Eru Manukau, three Northland Maori representing the Confederation of Chiefs of the United Tribes, appear in Auckland High Court today claiming $2.4 million in damages relating to the Ministry of Fisheries seizure of a boat used to catch fish for distribution under Maori customary fishing rights in November 1996.
