After consultation with Military Commander Frank Bainimarama, Fijian President Ratu Josefa Iloilo has responded to a Court of Appeal ruling declaring the interim government illegal and calling for Bainimarama to be removed as Prime Minister and for democratic elections to be held, by announcing that all judicial appointments are discontinued and the government is no longer in office.
