A look at the frustrations and achievements of one of New Zealand's most lively and innovative architects Ian Athfield. In 1975 he won an international competition directed towards providing housing for 140,000 squatters from the Tondo area in Manila. This film examines Ian Athfield's practical philosophy of architecture and culminates in his trip to the Philippines where he hopes to make his prize winning design a reality.
