A Guide to our Collection Access Pricing
Every collection access request is unique, involving different processes of digital preservation, rights clearances and delivery so the staff time involved will vary considerably. Hourly rates and other charges are set out in the tables below, but final costs will depend on many factors that our staff will discuss with you before any work begins.
Our pricing is guided by principles of cost recovery but we support democratic access to collection material with a tiered pricing structure providing for discounted rates for non-commercial use.
Online and onsite viewing of readily available collection material is free of charge, as is the first 30 minutes of research for non-commercial requests. Read more about onsite viewing.
For a more detailed description of the access process together with our full terms and conditions, please see our complete pricing guide, downloadable as a pdf file (valid from March 2020).
